The Mainichi Shimbun Edu article (published on December 22, 2022) introduces the “Double Helix: Translational Medicine” program hosted by Sugamo Junior and Senior High School.
This medical-focused course brought together 48 high school students from seven schools for a five-day immersive experience. Conducted in English, the program explored topics such as medical ethics and global health disparities, encouraging participants to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful discussions.
By fostering a deeper understanding of critical healthcare issues, the “Double Helix: Translational Medicine” program is shaping globally-minded students with the knowledge and skills to address challenges in the medical field.
